Conversations In Design

Francis is delighted to be appearing at Design Centre Chelsea Harbour on March 13 as part of London Design Week Conversations In Design series when some of the biggest names from interior design around the world come together to discuss how London still sits at the heart of international interior design. Hosted by Financial Times How To Spend It, A Decade In Design will cover the past ten years of Francis's career, since he opened his eponymous studio. Francis will be talking to writer Charlotte Abrahams about his influences growing up in Malta and then working in London. Charlotte and Francis will also discuss what makes a successful interior and how to design with contemporary art and design. They will also look to the future and talk about where interior design is heading for 2020 and beyond.

A week of Art & Interiors.

Last week Francis kicked off the busiest week in the art calendar with a talk for House & Garden on Art & Interiors and how to create an art collection. Hosted by Emily Tobin, House & Garden's Arts & Deputy Features Editor, Francis talked at length with Frances Christie of Sotheby's on how to choose art for your home, his own collection and what artists he will be collecting in the future. The talk was hosted by the Design Centre Chelsea Harbour. Francis was delighted to be invited once again to joint the prestigious judging committee for PAD.

Haute Couture, Coco Chanel, Indian Maharajas, Art Deco:  Francis introduces his sumptuous new collection, Narmina

We are delighted to announce the launch of our new furniture and accessories collection, entitled Narmina. The collection comprises upholstery, furniture, lighting and small accessories and offers a journey through the myriad of influences at work within Francis’s designs, including Art Deco Paris of the 1920s, the work of Coco Chanel and designer/artist José María Sert and the exotic extravagance of the Indian maharajas.

Striking glamour, sinuous lines and fluid proportions are at work in a series of elegant and sophisticated pieces. The collection retains Francis’s love of artisan craft techniques and use of noble materials. Expect to see straw marquetry, rock crystal, our signature patinated bronze, bespoke silk and hessian tweeds designed by Francis as well as rattan, leather and pate de verre. The colour palette includes soft pink, white and golden crystal, sage and forest green, dark bronze, ecru and straw.  The collection will be on show by appointment at the showroom during London Design Festival from mid September onwards.
